Engine: 2.2 pile of metal
Transmission: 3 on the tree
Axle/Gears: so tall theres no point

what is the timing supposed to be on the 2.8? my car has been acting sluggish to say the least. i think i remember the original owners teling mr they retarted it for some reason, i dont remember. but i wanted to check it out, what is it stock, and what can it be advanced to?

Stock it's 10* BTDC
I have mine advanced all the way to 18* and run 93 octane with no pinging. The best thing to do is to bring it to stock, then advance it in 2* increments until it starts pinging, then back it off to where it stops. That'll be where your engine likes it best.

thanks, i will deffinitly do that, next time i have access to a timing light.
