Did they check for good airflow? My car used to die if I didnt rev the motor up to 2k for a few first thing in the morning (never any other time) After I cleaned the throttle body havent had the issue since. Your car giving any codes? Does it die like the fuel got cut off (sputters off)? or like the battery died (just a straight cutoff)? There's so many factors that can cause it.

Two of my Camaros had mysterious stalling and dying problems that were difficult to diagnose. Both turned out to be caused by clogged catalitic converters.

Hells Yeah! The CAT on my '84 was so clogged that it would idle but would die as soon as I gave it some gas. I noticed a hissing sound coming from the CAT and discovered that exhaust was trying to escape from a tiny pin hole in the CAT! I sawzalled a chunk out of the 'Y' pipe and headed off to work!
