im going to be ordering a Melling MTC-5 cam, lifters and springs, but i cant find what the proper size O/D our springs are to order. from what ive found it seems to be 1.230. is this correct? does anyone have any springs w/ part numbers they recommend?
V8 "Z28" springs. good to like .550" lift or so. don't remember if you HAVE to machine the spring seats or not (for the OD).
id like to stay away from any machining if possible. anyone else know?

I used Melling VS-380 springs, but they are almost impossible to find now... I've got an appropriate Sealed Power part number (Advance Auto can order them) but I'll have to post it when I get home....
You might call up Northern Auto Parts, and see if they can get a set of 12 Melling VS-380 (should be dual springs!) valve springs for you, that is exactly what I did!
