Simple cam for 2.8
Back in January I blew a rod on my 2.8 (firebird). At the time it wasn't that big a deal because i was almost done with my camaro (305). Well, right now the only good thing about the camaro is the rebuilt engine. The rest of the car is ragged out bad. So, i wanna take the camaro off the road so i can spend all my time making it look better without having to worry about putting it bak together at the end of every weekend so i can drive it for another week. Now im repairing the 2.8 so it can become my daily driver again. Since im gonna have it apart i figured i'd give it a little something extra. Im not looking for anything wild, but something that will make a difference. What do you guys suggest?

crane p/n 254122: 264*/274* adv. duration .423"/.423". i'd say that'd be a pretty good cam. it will probably have a *slight* lope and should pull pretty hard into the 4600-5000rpm range. definitely do the exhaust at the same time if you can though, it will help it perform better, as well as help fuel economy. JEG's wants $170.
either that, or sell me the firebird w/ blown v6 for really cheap.

This is the cam I put in my 2.8. Its a little choppy but sounds good with the dyanomax catback and all. I like the response I get from it.
