Aluminum headed 2.8
Aluminum headed 2.8
I've read many mixed opinions on what I am wanting to do. I am goign to build a 2.8 with a 3.1 crank in it, I have access to 3.1 FWD aluminum heads, and everything else from the topend out of a grand prix, IF I have understood right this should all bolt righ on?? IS this worth the time and money to do??

if you read up on this, you may have read about the distributor issue and how the FWD intakes get in the way, im not sure how bad, but if you read https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/v6/3...heads-3-a.html or use this nifty feature
, you will find that it is a little more than bolt on and go, youre better off doing a 3.4 swap and possibly a little gasket matching and porting and polishing the heads and intake, search is your friend, sell the fwd stuff for a rwd 3.4

Before I would suggest selling the FWD parts, I will ask this:
How much do you want exceptional power and drivability?
Are you afraid of making some modifications to the engine wire harness?
Now would be the time to decide, since you will be stroking it, you will need to select piston, if you decide to go with the aluminium top end, you'll need the matching pistons, unless you want 11:1 SCR.
I did something very similar but also added a blow dryer to the mix.
What year is the grand prix?

Also if you notice I actually posted in that post you linked me too.
To be 100% honest this motor is not going into a camaro, its actually in a suzuki samurai that I swapped a 2.8 into. Im wanting to give it a lil more pep and looked into the alumunum head idea. IF its goign to be too expensive I will just do the 2.8/3.1 stroker with iron heads and call it good
