3.4 cam, 240 or 252, computer/ power ?'s
I'm getting a new cam for the 3.4 replacing the 2.8. I'm leaning towards a stock 240 cam kit, but was curious about what has to be done to the computer to work with a 252 cam. The specs on summitracing says it's not computer compatable, and there are no specs for the 240 cam kit, just the part #.
Also, how much difference does the 252 cam make hp and torque wise, and I assume it will use a little more gas.
I'm also assuming for my daily driving-non-racing needs, the 240 would be the way to go (they both cost the same, but if I need to buy a chip or something, then the 240 will be costing me less), and I'm trying to spend as little as possible.

I seem to be having a hard time finding them... Can you provide links to the camshafts in question?

I can't post the link for some reason. the part number is CCA-K16-232-4 on summit
That's for the 3.4. I went ahead and ordered the 240. I still have to get the oil pump and many more gaskets yet too. Oh well, at least it will be brand new when I get done. I haven't looked into rebuilding the tranny yet though.

i cant find the 240 cam u refer to,but yeah the 252 + will deff need some computer tunning
edit
the larger the cam the less vacum at idle, and the higher ur power band will be,not to mention the larger cams like more compression and stall speed if u have an auto, and higher ratio rearend gears
