If I'm not mistaken all firebird MAF's use a digital (i.e. PWM or pulse width modulation) signal. I know thats the case if your MAF is the "bent" variety. You'd need an oscilloscope or at least a duty cycle meter to test it.
If its the straightline style you can measure voltage directly. There ought to be a ground a +12V and the signal line.
No way to simply ohm it out.
Much simpler way is to run the motor until its at proper operating temp, then unplug it. If your motor *changes*, then its doing "something" LOL. If no change at all than its simply dead.
The motor should run fine with it unplugged, so if your engine isn't running then I would not suspect that as an immediate cause.
Vacuum lines for 85 are different than any other year. Look for posts from KED85, god rest his soul, for a diagram. Autozone.com has the right ones too but kinda hard to actually use.

If you go to buy another I do not recommend a reman. My 87 has gone through 2 of the Autozone remans already. The first was covered under the 90 day warranty. The second lasted less than a year. The dealer is expensive, so I think I located one at this website:

Do a search for "air mass"
