setting valve lash 2.8
I am needing to set the valve lash but the car won't start. I think I am close on having the dizzy stabbed correctly. I have the upper intake off and am now ready to get this done. What is the easiest way to do this? I've looked the forums over and that didn't help. So what do you suggest.

you dont need the car running to set lash on these. take the valve covers off. start at #1 TDC and set to zero lash (when there is just enough on the pushrod so it wont turn) and then go another 1/2 turn. next is #2, #3, #4, #5, #6. then youre all done and put it back together.
to get the dist in right, go back to #1 TDC, when its seated all the way in, the rotor will be pointing at the #1 on the dist cap, or about 7 o'clock position.

Search my user name, I typed this strait from the GM manual on here before. It was a long time ago, but I know I did it.
