FWD head for RWD?

ive read stuff like FWD head from corscia to a camaro,
will they fit my 3.1 RWD?

im in need of valve job in near future,
and i just want to swap it instead of rebuilding it,
aluminum head sounds really good.

thanks!

i believe this has been covered before, alot. i seem to remmber you need to swap out pistons too, but i can't remmebr if it was becasue you would get too much compression, or not enough... anyway i would do a search, i am sure somthing will come up.

EDIT i searched for "FWD aluminum heads" and this was the 2nd thread on the list...
SEARCH NEXT TIME!

Actually no, just a few plug changes for the dizzy wires to connect to the DIS module.

The most difficult part is getting a trigger signal for the DIS. If a 2.8 or 3.1 block is used, a custom trigger wheel will need to be used, like I made for my truck.

actually it isnt as easy as i thought at all..
since i dont have much experience yet,
i'll just stick with stock replacement then..

any1 know of a 3.1 store where they sell like
upgrade pistons and valves for 2.8 or 3.1?

ive seen it somewhere but i forgot and can't find it anymore..

I know there's a webpage of them,
I wanna look at them if any1 know which one im talking about, and hopefully the stuff they sell are compatible with other components..

ARI Racing Engines offers a 2.8 ->3.1 kit. Read about it here...

A.R.I. Engines GM 60-degree V6 - 2.8-3.4 Stroker 816-765-4881

I bought a crank kit from them for my engine.

You can use a JY crank and get some stock replacment pistins s well, probably cheaper to.

thanks Gymbie, thats exactly the site I seen before.

looks like most of the cool stuff they sell are for 2.8 though..
for god's sake why did i get a 3.1..

JY as in junkyard?
if so when I replace something, I like it new.
i know its money-costing but I want my car to look as nice as newer cars, rust-free.

Well the 2,8 and 3.1 are the same except for the crank and pistons.....

I dunno about you, but once the engine is all together I can't see any part of the crank, so what it looks like is not a concern, besides, with the oil coating that is on the cranks they usually are rust free anyway.

If it's a wear problem, I wouldn't worry about that, since well I have a 3.1 crank of unknown milage in my turbo hybrid and have had zero problems with it, these cranks are just fine new or used.

I too prefer new for most parts, but I also realize that some parts don't need to be new.
