Weird oil pressure reading

Hey, just noticed today that my oil pressure goes down when I apply throttle at a certain rpm.

Say my car is cruising at 2k rpm with about 60 psi and no throttle at all.
If i give it gas, (same rpms) the oil pressure will go down about 5 pounds. Let off, and it goes back up.
What gives?

Cant help you much, but I have just about the opposite problem. Most of the time my needle is pegged above 80, and might drop once in a while to around 60 or so after cruising for a long time. I think the problem is a bad sensor, but I really dont know.

for wizman's case
if ur using multi weight oil(which most likely you are)
then as you drive long time and oil gets hot,
the oil gets thinner and thus u get lower oil psi.

if youre gauge is usually pegged and occasionally moves its more than likely a sending unit. i had the same thing w/ mine and most on here probably have at some point.

No idea but FWIW mine suddenly started reading anywhere from zero to 90psi. After cleanign the connector and even removing/cleaning the sender w/ no luck I just bought a cheapo replacement from the parts store and mine works fine again.
