help!!! ignition problem 3.1 v6 camaro

help!!! ignition problem 3.1 v6 camaro

Hey fellow third gen owners and enthusiests i have a problem and i have tried everything one day a week and a half ago i pulled my car up into the yard to clean it then my mom mowed lawn so i had to move it so i went in and started it backed it up into the driveway and shut it off then a little while later i went out and tried to start it and i got nothing..........huh.. yeah thats what i said...well anyways i took the steering colum apart because a while ago my ignition lock cylinder wires one snapped so i stripped the wire again back and soddered them back together and electrical tape worked fine...so i took the colum apart and noticed the wire broke again but in the lock cylinder so i went and bought a new ignition lock cylinder and key put it in and connected everything up put it back together tried to start it and nothing....what...yeah i said that also....so i thought maybe the starter...so i got under and took the starter off and took it in to auto zone they tested it... it was bad... so i thought yess found the problem..went home put the new starter on hooked eveerything up tried to start it...nothing....what huh... so guys plz help me out here i am stuck and this is my baby and i need to use it and show it the most i can and enjoy every last ride until i put her up so if anyone has any info plz post.

When you purchased the new lock cylinder did you get a key with a chip in it or did you just use the keys that came with the cylinder?..

i used the key it came with and it didnt have a chip why?

I'll never take any part to autozone to get tested. I've taken 3 things to them to get tested and they passed as good. And those 3 things were exactly what was wrong with the car. Have you checked your ignition module? Those go out quick.
