Got the replacement headers

Came with the bolts and gaskets this time too. Only problem now is that the crossover section is too long. It is however bent correctly, so shortening it will be pretty easy.

I could either cut it, measure the heck out of it, and re-weld it together.....Or, Cut out a section, get a slightly larger piece, slip the 2 halves into it, and bolt it together completely and re-weld.

I pretty happy anyway since these should clear the bigger oilfilter, and they came with the bolts/gasket kit, which will save a lot of money and running around.

the actual header gaskets have been replaced already with felpro's, but should I do the same with the lower pipe gasket too?

Actually since I need to shorten it 2 inches I'll cut out 1-1.5 inches and have one half of it widened slightly. Then I can just slip one section into the other.

Technically, yes. However, being over a year old, I dunno if they still will.

Summit stands by what they sell I guess.

The headers I returned were the ones I ordered back in Jan 05 just before going to Iraq for a year.

It wasn't until last week that I tried installing them on the engine (3.4 on the stand) and found out one piece was goofy. I told the customer service guy what the deal was about why it took so long and he said,

"no problem, we'll send a ups truck out to pick'em up and send you a new set, and if they don't have the bolts this time, call us and we'll get those sent too."

Anyway, shortening the pipe is pretty simple, and I just want to get this swap underway, so I'll shorten it.

Always use new gaskets on exhaust systems and if you can stand the stink use copper coat. What brand are the third gen 60 degree V-6 headers?
