Another oil pressure problem

Another oil pressure problem

OK fist i have a 91 firebird with the 3.1v6, when its idling its at 0 or something 10 or 15 pis then when im driving about 45-55mph its around 38-39 psi. I think the the sending unit or the gauge itself, but wanted or sugestions..

That pressure definitely seems a little low during idle, but with a load, you seem fine. Our stock gauges are notorious for giving false readings, but despite that, I would make it a point of replacing your stock oil pressure sensor first. Give the system a good flush while your at it, and fill it up with a full synthetic brand (preferrably Mobil One). If that didn't solve your problem, let us know...

You could also grab a cheap mechanical gauge and verify the stock sender's accuracy.
