Is the 87 2.8 internally or externally balanced?

I tried to look it up but it seems to the one year people aren't sure of, I read some saying '88 was the first year for internally balanced cranks, but others say that with the transverse mounted 2.8 coming out in '87, and it was internal, that RWD 2.8s were internally balanced too. I have an engine out of a '87 and I need to know, I have a driveplate from an '88 to use but if it is externally balanced, how would I get it balanced? I couldn't just take the driveplate off of my '86 and use it right? cause I though every engine was balanced to its own needs

uh, yea, like I said already, I tried to look, but I didn't find any straight answers. And this is something I would like to be pretty damn sure of cause I would be pretty pissed to get this thing installed just to find out I just ruined all the main bearings when I fired it up. But thanks.

the flywheels up to 88 i am pretty sure were extrenely balenced the 88's to 92 where internally but to like a 10 of an gram and the 92's and up where like .5 but i'm sure it would be on a forum somewhere
