headers in but ...

I just installed a set of pacesetters in my car but its sounds much worse. Before headers, I had a stock cat back with a 80 series flowmaster and the sound was sorta deep for a 6 but sounded good. Now with headers in, my car sounds horrible. It sounds like I have cut-outs, my car sounds very very raspy. Not to mention I lost a lot of low end power. I there anything I can do about the sound? Will a resonator help, or should I get a quieter muffler?

odds are you have several leaks in the y-pipe, or even where they bolt to the heads.

Rather then using the "crush connections" they provide, have it welded.

Headers will loose a bit of low end torque, but gain top end.

Mine sounded deaper at idle, but up top it sounded more raspy.

Same here, sounds good at idle but raspy on the up end. I checked for leaks in the y-pipe and leaks around the heads but none as of yet. What will work better a dynomaxx bullet, flowmaster resonator or borlas resonator?
