system consist of?

On the 2.8 I had the stock manifolds and y-pipe going into a 2.5 inch high-flow cat, 2.5 i-pipe, and Dynomax 2.5 single in/ dual out muffler.

Now I have all that combined with the pacesetter headers and y-pipe on a new 3.4. I'm having some major issues with something other than the exhaust (i guess), and it's ruining my gas mileage. Hopefully I can get back to normal if I ever figure it all out.

Anyway, I was curious as to what type of exhaust systems you have hooked up with your headers. Especially those of you that got more power and better mileage. I'm wondering how mine compares.

I have the pacesetter headers on my 3.1L going into a highflow cat and then into a 2 1/2" dynomax catback into a 2 1/2" flowmaster 80 series out dual 2 1/2" dynomax tailpipes. Due to the fact that my smog pump is no longer hooked up my O2 sensor stays open loop. I have more power but worse gas mileage. When first intstalled my car would stall. Now the problem is getting better. Dont know why but what i do know that was causing my car to stall was because the o2 sensor was not getting hot enough to close. So it was staying open loop.

Hmm, maybe it really is possible I'm having the same problems with my o2.

Are your headers the cemaric coated version? I forgot to mention mine are cemaric coated. (I'm spelling cemaric wrong I think)

if your O2 isn't getting hot enough wrap your headders in fiberglass insulation tape or "headder wrap" be sure to paint them thuroughly first though as it increases rust. It really helps keep the heat in the pipes though.

So far all I have heard about on here are the 2.8 headers. Has anyone tried the 3.4 headers for those that have done the swap or not? Just curious since I have done the swap and would like to go with those headers instead of the 2.8s. I'm guessing they should be the same except for the location of the 02 sensor.

Sorry to override your thread coolrims but I just want to know if there are any differences in them.

The 3.4 headers have to be cut, re-bent, etc. They will not work.

You need to use 2.8/3.1 headers.

Also, told directly from pacesetter, if you wrap your headers it voids any warranty.
