3.4 horsepower numbers???

About what is the most horsepower that can be squeezed out of a 3.4 V6 using bolt-ons? How about after major mods? Also is it safe to bore the block out to 3.5???? or more????

I think 3.6 is the biggest it can go? But dont know anyone who has.

Bolt ons, I had a bit more and was still under 200.

If redraif still post around here, she had the most radical n/a 3.4. I belive she was over 200. You would have to search to find out her exact #'s.

She was over 200. I haven't seen anything from her lately...where'd she go? I'm sure I'm over 200, also. I haven't been to the track with my current motor combo running reasonably well but it should be able to run sub-15 seconds in the 1/4 mile...it did with my old, smaller cam.

Ya AM91, I have come across your cardomain site alot. That list of mods is pretty intense and is kinda intimidating for a newbie like me. I would like some more power though. I dont expect to have 400hp, but more than I currently have would be nice, enough to have some fun with anyways.... But I don't think the 3.4 swap alone will satisfy my needs....

The 4th Gen 3.4 V6 in the Camaro and Firebird came stock with about 160 hp. I know of people who swapped the top end from a 3400 FWD V6 from a newer GM sedan, one of them, doing just that work and a pair of headers, took his car up to 186 hp. I also know of people who have hit 180hp with just bolt ons. Top end swap and bolt ons on a RWD F-Body 3.4 V6 should put you just past the 200hp mark easily. You just have to know what you are doing, instead of just throwing parts at the car and hoping for the best.

i checked this site's faq board it says that the 88 2.8 was 160 if that's true then wouldn't a 3.4 be higher than that

i know that they'll say it's a driver's race, but you should be able to put down some decent #'s w.the 3.4/t-5 combo. My mero did a best ( for me) of like 16.4~5 or so smoking the whole way down. original owner claims a 15 flat, but I have reason to doubt it, as he had bought th ecar off the showroom floor, and it didn't have the 134+k miles on it. oh yeah, it has some mods done to it, but this is a 3rd gen forum
