oil leak

so i have an oil leak in my car. I know its leaking it and not burning it. My car doesnt smolke at all, not to mention, the underside of my car is covered in oil. They new exhuast i just puton it ha a lot of oil on it already. I added oil to it and it was above the full mark on accident, and after i drove to school(the next moring) the oil was on the ,ow side of the operating range.

is ther a typical spot this happens? i know i just need to put the car up on jack stands and look for a leak, i was just wondering if there was a common leak to look for or some sort of reference to go by, thanks

depending on the mileage, it could be anywhere. front crank seal, rear main, rear cam seal, distributor o-ring, intake gaskets, are some of the most common ones. other possibilities are oil pan gasket, head gaskets, timing cover gasket, or anything else on the engine, lol. if you can get pics, those would be a great help. but try to see where the leak is at its highest point. if it also looks like its coming from the back of the engine, its probably the dist o-ring... if its up high. pics will help though, if you can.

ill try and get picks. i tihnk its towards the back of the motor. and it seems like it will leak untill it gets to a certain point and tehn stop. it always gets to the low side of the operating level and seems to either stop or just really slow down. I really want to get this fixed soon becasue i drive this like 20 miles or more to school everyday on the highway, lol

hopefully i can fix it without too much work
