Re: 2.8 intake manifold

be more specific please. the whole intake (lower, upper, and plenum)? or just the plenum? the plenum is the top piece that has the throttle body mounted on it. The upper intake is between the lower intake and the plenum. The lower intake mounts above the cam (on top of the block) between the heads.

So, if you are just wanting to do routine maintenance, take off the plenum, clean it with lots of carb cleaner (get a pack of 4-8 from walmart for $1.00 each)... just spray, wait a few secs, spray, etc. real easy and makes it a LOT cleaner.

you could also have a shop make you a custom one, or just make your's bigger... but you have to know what you are doing. IMO just carb clean it (it cleans carbon out of anything) and re-gasket it and toss it back on.

a WHOLE intake gasket kit (with valve covers gaskets) is ~18$ for Felpro... that's a good brand imo

Re: 2.8 intake manifold

u can gasket the upper to the mid section and gasket match the mid to the lower section.the only other reall thing u can do besides fabing up a whole new intake or top, is to grind the small side radius on the upper and mid sections, but u have to be carefull if u dont know what ur doing u can hurt flow alot more then u can help it

actually scottie, the top part is the upper. the middle "strip" of it, where its all open inside, is the plenum. then, the mid section and the lower that bolts to the heads.
I agree with Dave's post. and, he meant gasket *match*
