Modifying Headers.

What modifications need to be done to the Pacesetter headers to be completely compatible with the 3.1? Where would I need to get bungs welded in, etc.

Thanks in advanced!

Re: Modifying Headers.

Depends on where you live and if you have inspections on your car or not. They will bolt on the 3.1 (which I assume you already know). Even if you modify them to hook up the AIR system, they still won't be legal if they check the carb number on the headers. If they don't check, you can look to see where the AIR tubes hook up on your manifolds and put bungs on the headers in those locations or you could ditch the whole smog system.

Re: Modifying Headers.

When i installed these on my 1992 camaro 3.1. I had to take off every tube on the smog pump to get enough room for the passenger side header. I have the smog pump still on the car and being turned by the belt. Also i would suggest removing the studs in the head, they wont keep the headers tight enough and they will blow gaskets every two days. My friend is about to get his pa inspection liscense, so i wont have a problem getting it passed.
