timming 2.8

Axle/Gears: 3.27 9bolt
timming 2.8
I have timed it before but for some reson this time its not working right.
I put the #1 cylinder at TDC and slid the distributor in with the rotor pointing straight foward. Then I put the cap on with # 1 cylinder straight foward.
Then I set firing order 123456 with 1 3 5 on the passenger side and 2 4 6 driver starting at the front.
The distibutor turns clockwise right?
Anyways, not when I try to crank it it just spits fuel out the throttle body
This is on a 93 2.8 S-10 thanks guys I know you can help me!!!
