Ram Air system

I was watching this episode of american muscle car...and it was an episode all about ram air systems....I was thinking of making one myself my ride. I was just wondering if anyone here has done it ...and how it turned out.

Re: Ram Air system

Here ya go. Made it myself in a couple of hours with aluminum (street sign), rivets, and silicone to fill in gaps. I'm happy with it. Maybe a little in the top end but I don't know. I was just bored one day and came up with the idea. Did it for fun.

Re: Ram Air system

68/69 Firebird hood scoops molded into 86 hood right at apex so they face forward good.

Simple 3in hi temp air ducting squished into an oval then siliconed to underside of hood in a U shape with a single main leg running into enigne.

rain snow shine no problems

Always meant to get a sheet metal guy to build the hood ducting over in sheet.

Re: Ram Air system

^That looks real good. There is another guy who did something similar. He took the hood off of a newer grand prix and molded it onto his fourth gen Camaro hood.
