ok, the other day my car was running sluggish, and i thought it was te maf sensor so i unplugged it hopeing that if it was, itd reset, well i went for a drive later on and car was overheating,(have a small leak in radiator i gotta get fixed) well any ways, the resivor was completely empty which it wasnt in the morning, and the oil dipstick wasnt even in all the way so i had no idea what to think, so i cleaned up that mess, and checked the oil, which was VERY hot lol, and thinking id need to add oil, instead on the dipstick it read that i had to much oil now? whats going on, i have no idea what to think....

 

what color was the oil?

 

did the oil look like a choclate milkshake lol ?

 

reads like someone blew a head gasket.

 

well, it was the same color as the oil in my dads truck, so i have no idea, and it smelt like oil....kind of a light brown color

 

Well let it set for a little while and check it again cold, if its has white in it then its probly the head gasket i wouldnt drive it anymore till you find the problem, lost of all water over one day, and how long ago did you change your oil

 

how much over full was it? Oil will expand a bit when it gets hot as almost any fluid will. so it may read Full cold, but be 1/4qt over when the engine is hot.

Oil gets up to the same temp as the engine block itself so it should get very hot. unless you have an oil cooler.
