injector question
where can I get the little plastic ends at for the injectors? I bought some inj from 2.8 bird and they are all cracked. I've tried taking the ones I have from mine but can get the suckers off. Any suggestions.

Re: injector question
If I remember right, they just snap onto the end, but at this point they are so fragile from the heat and age that they'll most likely break. Talk to a shop that specializes in carbs and FI parts, you'd be surprised at how many there are. They usually can get you a new set of tips for a pretty cheap price. The alternative is to try very carefully to pop the ones off your old injectors with a small flatblade screwdriver. You might break them, but on a set of six, you might be able to get one off.

Re: injector question
we'll so far no one has those caps. What purpose do they serve anyway? When I go to the part store the rebuilt injectors don't have the cap on them. So can I just leave them off? I need to know so I can finish putting this motor back together.

Re: injector question
I would like to know also. I changed the o-rings on mine a while back and most of those little caps just fell off from being cracked into many pieces. I am pulling my injectors again this weekend and might as well replace some of those caps if they are important.

Re: injector question
did it effect anything or did you not put them back in that way? I'll have to check one more parts store and see what they say.

Re: injector question
They just shield the pintle hole from carbon and other debris so it doesn't get stuck right on the tip. I am missing 2 of them I think, never had a problem and I havn't had them out for the last 3 years.

Re: injector question
I found out how to get them off but I broke 2 out of six trying. They would still work but not fit as snug. I have a guy I can get new injectors for around $25 a peice. I might have to buy some if these don't work.
I don't understand why the parts store or even chevy dealer doesn't carry them? I can't find any injector shops around I guess I'll have to check some speed shops.
