Mass Air Flow Sensor Codes

I replaced my fan motor assembly and accidentally ran the car with the air intake connecting tube (including MAS) disconnected, while waiting to see if the new fan would kick on. Now it's throwing code 33 & 34 which are high and low temp codes. I clear them, they come right back when I start the car. How do I fix this problem? Do I have to drive the car a lot, or go to the junkyard and get another sensor? It's like the codes are burned into the chip...

Did you try idsconnecting the battery for 5 min? Also make sure that all of the connetions are on tight adn that you didn't knock anything else loose.

Re: Mass Air Flow Sensor Codes

does the SES light come on, or are the codes just in memory with no light?

If the light stays off, they are just memory codes and will clear themselves in 80 warmup cycles, or you could clear them yourself by pulling the battery cable for a few minutes, or pulling the ECM fuse near the battery.

I like doing the fuse because I don't have to reset my radio.

Re: Mass Air Flow Sensor Codes

I've left the battery unconnected for 20+ minutes before and they come right back when I start the car up. Yes the SES lights up. Connected pins 5 & 6 to get the codes, 33 & 34. I found a sensor on this board for $40 plus shipping. Think I should get it or can I drive this problem out on the current sensor? Thanks for advising.

halfway there

Turns out the MAF fuse was blown (fuse with red/brn & white wire by bat). I borrowed the 4 way flasher fuse because I didn't have an extra 20 amp. Cleared codes, but now 34 is showing. 33 is gone. Any ideas? Thanks.
