V6 manual trani mount

My friend has a V6 Camaro, he can only find a trani mount at the dealer for $190. Is there anybody that can help me find him a cheaper mount. It is a 5-speed.
Thanks
Krista

Nope...that's the only place it exists anymore. Since I know how to weld, I fabricated an adapter out of steel so that I can use a $19 auto trans mount. I can take pictures of it if you want.

Re: V6 manual trani mount

I've also heard that you can get an auto x-member and use the auto mount, but I'm not sure. Like I said, I used steel plate and welded up an adapter that I've been using for over a year now with no problems.

Re: V6 manual trani mount

Never seen one, but why would you want one? It's a V6. I could understand it if you were on a full on race motor, but solid mounts on a daily driver?

Re: V6 manual trani mount

dont have to worry about ever buying another tranny mount lol

my 89 2.8 had the 190$ mount b4 it got junked it went...

now this one jus recently went....i looked it up on summit they only make one for v8 but if i do the v8 crossmember from a jy/ that mount i would never have to worry bout a tranny mount again

Yeah, but you'll feel every little vibration there is in the road.

Re: V6 manual trani mount

My parts america listing shows the one for my 88 at less than 5 bucks...

Does someone have a picture of this mystery mount that no one makes anymore so that I can add it to my archive?

Last time I was under my car, my V6 T5 mount looked eerily similar to my V8 T5 mount...

Re: V6 manual trani mount

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: V6 manual trani mount

Just go get a normal V8 crossmember, or a 6-cyl crossmember out of a car that doesn't have that $$$ hydraulic mount; and use the cheap one. You can get those out of either a T-5 or an auto car; they're the same.

i couldn't see that lasting more that 500 ft down the road
That's ridiculous. Beyond ridiculous.

I might be an idiot (just maybe....) but I fail to see how a V8 crossmember and mount will have trouble lasting with one of those weenie 6-cyl motors in front of it.
