This sucks, how do I fill the oil?

I put the motor back together without the valve covers so when I got it running I could adjust the lifters. I did get it to start twice for a breef few seconds. I decided to check the oil and it was so flushed with fuel it was like water.

I then decided to change the oil so I don't completly ruin the motor. But now my problem is how do I fill the motor up with oil? Has anyone ever tried to do this with the VC off before? Please help.

Pour it slowly so it runs into the little holes in the cylinder heads. That or temporarily put the valve cover on.

putting the valve cover back on is easier said than done. I'll try the latter.

I used a real small funnel and put it in the dip stick tube and used it to fill the motor. It took me about 45mins to do it.
