reseting govenor

I have a 92 3.1 RS and it can only get up to 107mph before the governor kicks the rpms from 35 to the red line and it wont go any faster. Does anyone no how to change the computer to make it not do that?

Re: reseting govenor

you would have to tune your car...not sure how 3rd gen computers work, but 4th gens need to have a programmer/mail-in/software tune

No. Go read the DIY prom section. You can buy a chip burner and do it yourself.

Re: reseting govenor

heck just be glad your 3.1 will get you over 85MPH, but I think my trans is bad, you say 3500RPM at 107, heck I'm turning that at 70-80!
