Re: COLD AIR INTAKE

depends on mods that u have....more modded you are...the more difference it will make...
for a CAI just go to technical articles and click on the CAI articles....thats what I did and it worked just fine for my 383......
hope this helps

Re: COLD AIR INTAKE

Yes, they do make a difference because the stock setup on your Firebird is very restrictive. I went with the SLP cold air system because it almost looks factory. If you're not worried about your car looking original, you can easily build your own like stated above. You can check ebay too:

http://motors.search-desc.ebay.com/s...trypage=search

Not sure if these would work with your 3.1, but they could probably be modified to work with little difficulty.

Re: COLD AIR INTAKE

under $100 bucks buy a 90 degree, a 45 degree of 3 inch tubing and a 3 inch filter and your good to go. I have it on mine made a world of a difference even when completly stock now with headers and exhaust helps even more.

i bought a CAI off of ebay for 92 3.1 camaro, the CAI was for a 93 camaro but it works just a ss well, only thing is that i had to cut a 3inch hole in the air box so it would fit.

My friend had the exact red firebird it had a black bird on it. Looked gooded but it wasnt the same bird off the 1977 TA's. But I would say put silver racing stripes on it.

i forgot this picture was before she had her first bath it isnt that dal anymore but it stil needs some paint and as for the bird i decided not to go with that at all ,but im thinging on putting ponitac across front windsheild in red.and maybe a red firebird on the back window if i dont like it i wil just peel off and it wont be affecting my paint at all.

Re: COLD AIR INTAKE

here you go sorry about the first one it was developed from a damaged roll of film. and the second one is just a side veiw. i left the bird small but it should give you a idea of what yours would look like. and i noticed that a bit ago you asked about exhaust well mine is a flowmaster with two 4 inch crome toners.

Re: COLD AIR INTAKE

not to much i use to work at a body shop, and we had a fourth gen come in with that exhaust. the car was totaled and i asked my boss how much. and he told me the car was already sold to the junkyard so i called the junkyard and asked them before they even got the car and they said $60 cat back the only problem with it was were the pipes curve out of the mufler to exit the back of the car were bent in. so all i did was bend it back out. so i got lucky buying one brand new not to sure for our cars. For my trans am i priced the same exhuast but with 3 inch piping all the way back and the 4 inch toners i was told about $600.

Re: COLD AIR INTAKE

pvc works, we built one for my firneds charger because they dont make them for his v6, 15$ at ace and 30 at checker and you have a cold air intake that works perfectly and all we needed to do was pull his old air resonator box that doege puts in like in hondas, just be sure you hook up the line for the o2 sensor or it will just run like crap, gotta love those halfway intelligent computers they put in the 80's and 90's cars lol
