How does the Heater/AC Compressor work ?
How does the Heater/AC Compressor work ?
Ok I got Idle problem on my Firebird 93 V6 3.4L
I found that when my Heater is OFF and AC Off my Compressor's bearing turns the ACC Strap but not the compressor itself. (I can see the front of the compressor isn't turning)
When I open my Heater or AC. The front of the bearing turns too.
Like it should
But SOMETIMES it stop then start again back. When it stops, my RPM drop to 750, when it starts back it jumps to 900.
Isn't that supose to always turn when on?

The compressor doesn't always run when the a/c's on, there's many conditions set in the ecm to controll when the clutch applies. I.E. below a certain rpm or temp it won't engage.
