Distributor problems
Hello i have a 1992 pontiac firebird V6 3.1l i had a distributor problem and had i new one put in and now the car is not that same i use to be able to take off like nothing
but now in the car has to go all the way to 4100rpm before it goes to the next gear and theres alot of power lost it takes so long to get up to speed now,
is it the new distributor or do need new spark plugs or do i need to check the timing because the trans is fine just overhauled it?

Re: Distributor problems
yeah, check the timing by all means. Factory setting is 10 degrees. Make sure to unhook the est plug by the blower motor before setting the timing. After it is set plug the est back in and you should be good to go.
