Re: My first motor build
You do realize that painting the engine isn't the same as rebuilding, right? :P
Just razzing.
What did you do to it? Stock rebuild (refresh) or some upgrades?

No it was new rings, bearings, and gaskets. Every thing is stock right now. The can said it was GM blue. I went with that cause my interior is blue right now. The plugs are old ones didnt want to get paint in the heads. And plus I always see chevy engines orange I wanted to be diffent. Yea i paint two of the sensors, Did thing much of them when I started painting but o well right

Re: My first motor build
I panited my 305 in my 83 Camaro orange but i thought i would do something esle with the 86 2.8. Was trying to mach the interior color but the motor ended up lighter then i hope but with the black I think it will stand out. I will get a pic up when i get the motor in the car. Dont know when that will be cause of the weather here its warm one day and cold the next. I have a shade tree to work under but no heat.

Re: My first motor build
In a DD or something that is close to a DD, I ALWAYS paint the block black, hides the road grime and any oil leaks better, when you're showing off other parts under the hood.

True but if my motor is leaking oil I am not going to be showing if off to much until that is fixed but the road grime i never thought about.
