HELP! Throttle Body sticking open!
So I put my snorkel on yesterday. All went well. (It should be noted that I cleaned my IAC at the same time)
Today I started it so that the battery wouldn't die. This is not my daily driver. The idle seemed ungodly high, like 2500 rpms. But I remember reading on here that in cold weather these cars idle high when first starting. So I went to the post office ot pick up some stamps. When I came back it was up to normal operating temp but still indleing at 2500. I took a peek under the hook and the TB plate thingy wasn't even touching the idle screw! It was like an inch away! So I pushed it with my hand back into the idle screw. Idle went down to 600. It was kinda hard to push. Which it really shouldn't be at all. I went back inside the car and blipped the gas lightly. Same thing: TB plate didn't close all the way, idle back at 2500. I went back under the hood and pushed it back against the idle screw. I then went back into the car and blipped it quick down to the floor and let go. The car very unexpectedly redlined before I could shut off the ignition. As you may well imagine, this scares the heck out of me. I don't want to have to fight my engine to a stop. I adjusted my TV detent cable. No effect. I drove it, let it run for 20 more minute. no SES lights. TB Still sticking open.
So what's up?

Re: HELP! Throttle Body sticking open!
ummm, I figured it out. The prob is that I'm an idiot. A big fat idiot... there was installation hardware included... the guy put it IN the snorkel instead of in the package. That's all I'm going to say... can I get a moderator to delete this and end my shame?
