Any point in getting a new Y-pipe for this V6?
I've got a new muffler on it, and I'm getting a new Dynomax 2 1/2 I-pipe - (the one that comes with the Super Turbo catback) and my cat is gutted.
My question is - I know our stock Y-pipes on these things suck. They have that whole T connection thing goin' on. Would it be worth it to get one fabbed up for me? It would be just crush bending, 2 1/2 inch pipe, but the actual "Y" would be alot smoother.
I'm thinking like (from an infront of the engine perspective) asking them to make a pipe comming from the left and going down to meet the cat and having the pipe from the right come down and meet that one right as they both start to run parallel to the ground...
Check out my attachment....hahaha.

my pic is worse than yours
but i think you can see the idea im getting at for a exhaust setup, run duals all the way to where the exit WAS when you had a cat

Pacesetter already makes a good y-pipe for the v6's, but it only comes with the headers.

Well, I love the idea of headers, but I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty intimidated by them. And an install would probably cost just as much as the headers in labor.
I've heard of people having some problems with their car after the install, and this thing is my EVERDAY daily driver, school and all, so it can't really have any down time right now.
Headers are always floating through my mind though. So tempting...

I don't have any problems with mine. I will be selling mine in the summer when I swap in the new motor. I found a set of LTs.

No need to be intimidated by headers! They're great and fit well. You have plenty of room to work with a V6, so no excuses.
