They will work. They look a little different but they work. I have been running them in my 2.8 for about 9 months now without any problems. You will run a little rich at idle but not too bad. I like them better than the 2.8 injectors I had.

Just get some brake parts cleaner. That will take alot of the old stuff off.

3.1 and 2.8 rail are different because of the cold start injector piping.

Ive used carb cleaner and rubbing alcohol on my injectors.

I thought that 87-88 was the last year for the CSI?

If not, and you have the seventh injector, then yes, you have to swap the injectors over to the old rail (GP-Sorenson 800-9220 injector o-ring kit, will have four leftovers, $9 @ Advance). Just DON'T lose the o-ring on the CSI tube... you WON'T find another one except in a kit that has gaskets you won't even need.
BTW, go to a store and pick up the intake manifold set, FelPro MS-93020 and replace your upper end gaskets while you are at it. You won't regret having done so. (Might as well since you can only get the plenum gaskets in this kit, which you will need to even get at the fuel rail).
