84' V6 missing some parts, not sure which
I seem to be missing some vaccuum parts. I have photos. going to take a trip to the scrappers to figure it out and maybe take some "pocket parts"

also, what is this?

I have 9 days to pass emissions, this is kind of urgent. I don't pass, I believe they require recipts to show what I have done to try to make it pass the second time. Its another 14 days after I fail, plus recipts.

Not sure what engine you have but I'm guessing it's TBI? Found this link, hope it helps some.
http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us...rInfoPages.htm
Click on the first link after all the text, that's the vacuum layout for your engine.

Re: 84' V6 missing some parts, not sure which
ok the last pic is of a clutch res, looks empty, with its lid on the brake res.
the first pics were of a 2.8 with a computer controlled carb.... u need a box of end caps for the tubes and some tape to hide them.
if you have a ? for what should be here, and show the origin of the vac line answers will be a lot easer!
the middle pic shows an open vac line..... put a short line in there, and a cap on the other end. that will stop the leak, now look for the clean thing that looks like it should have the line back on it... if it runs ok, leave it as is or if it stumbles take the little fix out and reattach the vac line.
let us know how it works out!

Re: 84' V6 missing some parts, not sure which
damnit, I wasn't getting e-mails to show that there were replies.
I am in somerville nj, old bridge rocks.
Car is at AAMCO, trans rebuild. When it gets back I have to take it directly to the edison inspection station.
The rubber boot in the last pic, I was told, is a swolen bladder type thing, it goes in the hydraulic clutch resevior then the cap screws on.
The car is hard to start, stalls till it gets hot, after that it runs nice.
Its basicly 5 lines that are in question, thanks for that autozone thing, 2.8l carburated. I will study and take any new pics. But, as I said, covered all the holes, didn't change anything.
Sorry my posts are jumbled.
"now look for the clean thing that looks like it should have the line back on it"
the shiny disk shaped thing?
the first pic is the little black box just above my hand. has two holes in it. diagram looks like the idle speed vac solenoid.
the third pic, again has 2 holes in it, and diagram seems like its the egr vac solenoid. The holes are flush though, don't understand. I will remove it for a better look, in a few days.
Anyway, why the hell did they use plastic? why not replaceable rubber, plus they didn't expect the car to make it past 99,999 9/10ths
24yrs old +/- and only 34k

with rust on an engine like that... im sure its at 134k. or do you have a verified 34k reliable source?
those lines are cake, but i am used to my 89 before i went to a v8 in her. the vacuum diagrams suck, but they do help.

Re: 84' V6 missing some parts, not sure which
i know its 134, was saying they were stupid. the only exception is those old pickups that have rolled over several times. they make something well but then go and make something cheap, good engine/bad plastic parts. its all my IMO plus its fun to see 34k with an imaginary 1 before it.
what do you mean cake? easy?
(oh, I gunmetaled those rivits on each side of the speed gage plate. and did a color job on all the needles. on my 87' i was gonna change the "color condoms" that go over some dash lights, over to blue. the 84' is painted orange so it is going to have to stay orange, no slip ons for the bulbs.) grr, its a lot nicer now, take pics and post in proper area when i get it back.

Re: 84' V6 missing some parts, not sure which
hell, still no luck... gonna go fail and take it to a specialist, so he can route the lines the wrong way, like it started off with. The holes I mentioned, on the solenoids, are blanks. only three lines per solenoid and they come out the top.
