TB cooling 'thing' snapped in half....? (Pictures)
I was going to do the TB bypass anyway, but I noticed the coolant 'thing' (not good with parts) snapped in half near the threading which is causing a leak. Can anyone tell me what it is called, and if I can just plug up this hole instead of getting a new part?
This is what I'm talking about...

This is a closer look at the situation...

I have mine plugged. It goes to your heater. You'll have to cap off the entire loop. The other end is on the water pump; just put a hose cap on it and clamp it down. Without those plugged, you'll have no heater, since coolant won't be getting to your heatercore.

hows that working for you?? cause that also alows water to circulate when the thermostat is closed. i pluged mine on my car since i have no heater or ac in mine anymore, but in doing so i was told not to runa thermostat since there was no way for water to bypass it

It's a temporary solution. I ran with it like that for about two months as my DD before taking it back off for the 3.4 swap. I put it back in just to plug the hole until a 2.8 comes back into the yard so I can get the correct fitting.

Mine did the same thing. I removed the hoses to the throttle body and capped off the hose connections with vacuum caps; removed the metal tubing to the heater valve and capped off the connection at the heater valve with teflon tape and a brass cap; sealed the hole by the thermostat with JB Weld after grinding down the remainding threads with a Dremel.
I live in Central Florida so I really don't need heat. There have been no bad effects at any speed.

Thanks for the info guys!
I ended up getting a chromed out 1/2in heater hose adaptor from the "muscle car" section at autozone for $10. I chizzled (sp?) out the corroded pathetic original part that cracked, then put in the new one with some high-heat sealant on the threads. Then I just ran a 2ft hose to that black valve thing. TB is now bypassed, which was the main goal!
Thanks again- it's good to have a place to go for this kind of stuff!
