Someone please check an angle for me. Please!

Throtle body. The piece of metal that hits the throtle stop screw. I brought my car to a shop for an engine replacement and they couldnt figure out an idle isue. I noticed marring from pliers on that piece of metal that hits the throtle stop scew.. you know the one that you pull when the engine is on to rev it! I have never taken pliers to it and now in notice marring on it from pliers! I think it was 90 degrees and now its maybe 110 or 115. They pulled it forward for some reason. Someone with a virgen throtle body please check the angle with a piece of paper or a protracter so I can bend it back and corect my idle. Its it 90 degrees?

Sounds like some idiot mechanic bent it. Bend it back and tell them to really fix it.

Sounds like a bunch of remove and replace mechanics..no diagnostic techs in that shop or a bunch of wanna-bes.Tell them to fix the screw and find the real problem or take it somewhere else.If for some reason they needed to adjust that screw theres a metal plug at the front of the throttle body that you would remove and using a torx bit to screw it in or out for the correct voltage.

I checked the stop-screw cover and its still there. So they didnt mess with that.. you should NEVER have to mess with that scew. If you do your trying to band-aid a symptom and not fix the real problem. But I swear to God they bent the 'should be' 90degree metal plate that hits it. Ive worked on my car since 1997 when I was a Sr. in High school and I have never taken plyers to that piece on the throtle body. The only thing you should have to do to a throtle body is clean it, calabrate the TPS and replace the IAC prn (as needed). Thats it. I have to hold the throttle open just a little for it not to die while cold.. just enough to make up for those missing degrees. I can fix it but again I need a number. Use a piece of paper and tell me if its square. plz!

Well I can't get to my car at the moment, but I found this pic and it appears to be at 90°. Hope this helps.

Hopfully these images will come up and illustrate my issue. Even in the far photo you can see marring and in the close up you can see the seam in the metal change angles at the point of marring

..and..
