heated 02 sensor wiring
Hello all. I am going to hook up a heated o2 sensor to my pacesetter header equipped 2.8 camaro. What is the best location to splice in for the hot wire? I guess I would like to know how other members hooked theirs up and also if they had any problems with it.
thanks

I know I'm necroposting but would hooking up the hot lead to the pink dizzy wire have it on all the time, or just when the ignition was on? Need to know where to run the hot wire, getting my car into the shop tomorrow for an exhaust install among other things..

Personally I wouldn't let the pink wire power an oxygen sensor. I'd run the sensor off it's own fuse which would controlled by a relay from the ignition switch. That way the separate fuse and relay take the abuse, rather then the ignition switch.
You could use the pink wire to trigger the relay b/c it does come from ignition switch. *Personally* I wouldn't let it power an oxy sensor.

run it off a relay and have the OIL PRESSURE SWITCH switch the relay. That way, it's ony on with the engine actually running and not with ign. on.

Re: heated 02 sensor wiring
I have a 4-wire HEGO in my car. The wiring is simple and straight forward. Grab a connector and enough wire off a junkyard car.(Grab a hand full of sensors as well. They are cheap at a U-pull yard.) You have two ground wires. Hook these up to separate body grounds.(This is done for redundancy.) You can find factory grounds all over the place under the hood. Next, you have the power lead that supplies power to the heater on the sensor. I spliced this into my MAF power line.(It is only hot when the key is in the ON position.) And lastly, you just cut the old connector off the original signal wire, and splice the signal lead on it. Now you have your new O2 plug installed. Then all you have to do is install the sensor and plug it in. Nothing to it and it took me about 25 minutes to do. I chose to connect the power lead the way i did instead of using a relay is so if that relay happens to fail, my O2 sensor is still getting power. I never had any issues with this at all.

instead of MAF, you could use FP circuit to power, then too it wouldn't be on w/ the ign on. Only when there's a DRP and a short while after initially turning the ign on.

Re: heated 02 sensor wiring
That's what I did. I spliced it into the fuel pump relay. Do a search on it, there are two really good threads on the topic which have tons of good info.
