Looking For Ideas

Ok so after reading through most of the posts on this site I still have a few questions.
I'm not really smart when it comes to Automatic Trans, the whole TC confuses the hell out of me...What does it do, and what the Stall rating on it?
As far as CAI for a V6 I think I'm going to spend some time and fab up a custom one, my only concern is the 2 sensors in there. Do need them or is there a way to "lie" to my computer and make it see that they are still there?
As far as engine work, it looks like she has a fresh build on her. I can see new gaskets from top to bottom, just not sure whats inside. I am leaning towards either a turbo or a whole lota juice.......just not sure of it yet....I'm just after that WOW factor, and a whole lota SPEED

Re: Looking For Ideas

you are just full of helpful links...

So for racing applications I would want to run a higher stall rating on my TC? If I read that article right, it refers to how high my rpms are before my wheels turn??

Re: Looking For Ideas

^ Determine where you want your power to be in your RPM band based on some of the variables you will choose beforehand, static/dynamic compression levels, duration and lift, etc, and pick your stall speed accordingly. Engine's built for torque might want to take advantage of a lower stall speed, while engines built for high end horsepower applications might want to take advantage of something a higher....

Think of it as a neutral drop at wide open throttle, only, the car is already in gear. If you have a 4000 stall speed converter in your tranny, and you mash your gas, it will (or should) stall (delay) motion transfer until specified RPM is realized....
