Please help I'm @ a total loss...
First of all let me thank you for taking the time to read this. Okay it started out every once in a while after shutting it off it would not start back up. When I would turn the key to ACC I could hear the fuel priming up. As soon as I would turn the key all the way to start it would go completely silent, not a click nor whir & it would even interupt the fuel priming. One thing I noticed that I thought was kind of odd was that when the key was on ACC all the dummy guages would light up except for the water temp. onen. That one lights up when I turn the key to start. I have replaced just about everything electronic to try to resolve this issue: dist. cap & rotor, coil, ignition switch, starter, even the computer. Is it possible since the water temp light does not go on with all the others when the key is on ACC that maybe the water temp. sensor is the culprit? I am thinking (& hoping that is the case) or I'm thinking it's the prom. Cause that's the only thing left I haven't replaced I'm pretty sure. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The PROM has nothing to do with the car turning over or not... unless you have vats. which you don't.
Check the voltage to the starting solenoid when you turn the key and it doesn't start.
I'm thinking a bad neutral switch or a bad ignition switch.

Thank you all for your help & advice. I checked wires going to starter & the big black wire coming directly from positive side of batt. to big bolt on starter has constant juice as it is supposed to. The other smaller purple that connects to smaller bolt on solenoid coming from ignition switch (?) does not get any juice when key is turned to run. I tried following this wire back as far as I could but I can only follow so far until it basically disappears under part of engine I cannot get to. I have a Chilton manual & the wiring diagrams in there are completely useless. Does any body have a professional service manual with the good wiring diagram layouts ? If so could u please scan & send to me/post it? I would really appreciate it. I am in a real bad place right now without my car starting for so long. Just lost a real good job. Please help. Thank you.

Check your negative ground at the battery and the block. Sometimes all you have to do is twist the cable at the battery a little to get a better contact. I've had this problem before. Real frustrating 'til you see how simple the fix is.

Thanx for replying RSF (dig your Camaro with Eddie by the way). I did check those grounds/connections though (& they're fine). Today I tried running a wire from the pos. term. of my batt. & touched the other end to both terminals of starter while someone turned the key to try to get her to start but nothing. I just ordered a service manual from Classic Industries (for $130!!!). Hopefully the wiring diagram from there will help me. The one in my suck-*** Chilton manual doesn't even have the starter listed in the schematics. Is that ridiculous or what? I couldn't believe I couldn't start it by connecting the two starter terminals. From what I've read on posts from this site that's supposed to work. I am also going to replace the coolant/temp. sender since when I turn the key to run the temp. dummy guage light goes on which seems unusual. Well thanx again to everybody that's replied & tried to help. Please people keep those ideas coming, I'm in a really bad place here. Peace.
