Re: cold start valve help

Later 2.8s did not have the CSI, but I couldn't tell you which ones. Your best bet is to find someone who is parting a 3.1 and see if you can't snag the rail with injectors.

3.4 will work as long as it's from an F-body. FWD fuel rails are specific to the intakes and will not work. You can also rethread and plug the hole in your existing fuel rail.

Re: cold start valve help

Use a bolt for a plug with some sort of sealing washer (like the old fitting had). Second, you can either replace the whole FPR with an adjustable FPR or modify the stock one to make it an FPR. Either way, you are going to want higher fuel pressure as well as higher-flowing injectors.

Re: cold start valve help

leave the stock fpr, u can add one into the return line,
as for the rail itself take out the csi and take the part that threads into the rail over to a welding shop have them weld the back of it up so there is no hole.then just screw it back into the rail

thats what i did with mine

Re: cold start valve help

what? you can add a fpr into the return line? where do you get one of those?

the plug idea or welding the back of the csi thread are both very good ideas. I have an extra fuel rail I had cross threaded the csi in so its a good candidate for tap and plug. but the welding idea sounds fun too. is the threaded part stainless steel or just steel. I can weld so its no big deal for me to just do it myself. btw, I got my keyboard fixed if you haven't noticed.

I have a fuel rail from my 2.8 87 bird when I had to do an engine swap a while ago. The bone yard motor I got for it was complete. I saved a bunch of parts from the original including the fuel rail. Has the CSI though. If you need one u can have it cheap.

Re: cold start valve help

actually I have about 3 fuel rails w/ csi. but i'll keep it in mind. right now I'm going to put everything back together and see if the thread locker holds up. I also bought a new coolant temp sensor so I'll know how hot shes running the sensor was leaking a little bit to so I put thread locker on it so It'll hopefully seal it.
