IAC solenoid housing is the highest point, is that good, or would you like the Plasticine some where else on the U.I.M? I have the hood liner on my car, so I dod not know how accurate it will be. Can do this now...

your a star mate thanks, as i had my intake apart and started polishing i thought i might insert spacers between the U & M Intake to help round that sharp u bend, hmm might do 1/2 inch, thanks for your help. ant

not worth the trouble, u will have to modify the throttle cable bracket, to make it work properly.and the spacers will do nothing performace wise
i tried it sometime back on my old n/a motor

Re: Need a favour when youve got two ticks.....
why did you need to mod the tb cable braket, it would just move up 1/2 inch with the uim tb assembly ?
would it not help ease the air flow round the corner ?
thanks for your input

Re: Need a favour when youve got two ticks.....
the tb bracket bolts to the mim not the upper, so when u install spacers it picks up the tb while leaving the throttle cable bracket in the same place.
u either have to angle the tb bracket or pick it up the same amount that u space the upper intake.
it does help with the bend but it aslo increases runner length which we already have to much of.
i do belive u would be much happer just going to a 3.4 upper manifold it looks to be a decent improvment over the 2.8/3.1
if i had one to cut apart i could tell u for sure if its better or not but from the few pictures ive seen of one cut apart it does have more plenum volume and a shorter runner without that nasty bend in it

I dont think the 3.4 would clear the dis considering they are running DIS. But if it does clear and is more efficiant i have one i might try to put on

Just went and held the 3.4 over my motor, and it would be really close the base of the 3.4 would probably be up against/touching the dist. You would also have to change the large plastic vacume lines that go into the LIM around cause they would interfere as well.
