2.8 to 3.1 or 3.4

Hey,

M 2.8 is getting pretty tired, and I figured if I was going to replace it I should try and upgrade. I have read the 2.8 to 3.4 boogie and all that, however Iam not super knowledgeable or comfortable in juming right in, so had a few Q's if anyone can help.
1. Will my original transmission work for me?
2. I found a 3.1 'conversion kit' from a engine remanufactuer in Washington State. (They claim all 2.8 parts will bolt right on) Anyone heard of that, and if so is there anything that won't 'bolt right on'.

Thanks,

Thanks,
The 3.4L v6 is a 60 degree v6 like the 2.8L. Your trans will bolt up just fine. However, you will need to modify the computer to run the bigger engine, or swap the entire harness and computer over from the 3.4L. If you are going to be doing the 3.4L swap, I also recommend getting rid of the cast iron heads that came with it, and swapping in the aluminum heads from the 3400 that came in the front will drive cars, such as the grand am gt. That along with bigger injectors and exhaust will surely wake that motor up.
