are the fwd 2.8 heads better than the rwd 2.8 heads because most people who do a head swap use a 3x00 head with a diffrent bore than the 2.8/3.1 block and i was wondering why not just swap a set of 2.8 fwd heads on if they're better than the rwd would it not be easier?

 

It's more of a PITA than it's worth. The 2.8 FWD and 3.1 FWD had the same top end, and I know from having both an FWD and RWD 3.1 (the Bird and my '93 Grand Prix SE) that there is NO power difference between the 2. They both have the same numbers, except MAYBE torque, but the HP was still 140. If you were going to do that, you might as well just take the plunge and go 3x00.

 

Yea, the early fwd heads (labeled 2.8/3.1 on the plenum) aren't great and don't just interchange with the rwd stuff. If you're going to do it go with the 3x00 stuff.
