1. No idea
2. 135 stock in good running condition.
3. I can only estimate how fast ive gone, as my speedo only goes to 85, but i think i was goin about 125 (with the speedometer pegged out at 5 mph)

Re: Couple 2.8er question.
Theres actually 3 different speedos, theres also a 145mph speedo.
1. get the engine to operating temp and shut it off, disconnect the EST wire (wire by the firewall on the pass side near the heater box), loosen the dizzy hold down w/ a 15mm socket, start the engine and w/ a timing light, turn the dizzy until you get to 10 degrees BTDC. shut the engine off, tighten the hold down bolt, reconnect the EST wire, and youre good to go.
2. Depends on how much $$ you have. that question is a bit too vague.
3. are you talking mph? over 100mph. 1/4 mile times? 17 seconds ish, depends on the driver really.

Re: Couple 2.8er question.
its in the computer, you have to remove the speed limiter from the ECM and replace it with a new chip that is unlimited. that is, if your computer has a speed limiter at all.
EDIT: try getting to your max speed in third gear rather than in OD, if your OD is geared too high your engine will not be able to rev high enough to get the maximum speed out of it.

Re: Couple 2.8er question.
Why do you want to go that fast on public roads anyway? thats just being immature and irresponsible. all youre doing is endangering others lives (aparently your own doesnt matter). sorry to be a jerk about this, but i really cant stand people who want to "push the limits" and max out their speedo, whooptydo.... you went fast. now what are you gonna do when a lil kid walks out in the road or another car has to quickly move to avoid another car. good job dumbass. sorry, personal history.... i have no respect for people like that.

Re: Couple 2.8er question.
well, you arent very smart, i took mine off to take it to the local drag strip. many cities have these. i obey the speed limits when driving in town, i just like to go to the strip every once in a while, and a speed limiter drags you down, going fast is something a lot of car enthusiasts enjoy doing, especially if you have a sports car. please do not assume that everyone intends to fly down the interstate at 125+ mph.

Re: Couple 2.8er question.
I'm not going to take it off or drive fast on public streets, I'm just curious, apperently I can't be curious on here, I'm just curious cause I've had different answers, "can't get passed 85, gone over 100, can't even get to 85." everyone says it has no power, obviously I could test how fast it can go, cause it's in my drive way. But insted I did the "immature" thing by asking you how fast, insted of doing it myself.
Oh and please do not assume that I am going to fly down the interstate at 125+.

Re: Couple 2.8er question.
You show me a 2.8 that can do over that kinda speed in a 1/4 mile. You dont need to get rid of it, b/c you cant even do that fast. I highly doubt youre running over 100mph in a 2.8, even if it is modified. If so, post time slips. i encourage you to prove me wrong.

That part was directed at xenocide21. Sorry I should have stated that whole thing was directed at him since he seems to know of a mile long drag strip or have a faster 2.8 than most v8's are.

Re: Couple 2.8er question.
There's a section of I-40 thru SE Cali that is flat, straight, and no one drives on it. I cruised at 100 for 10 minutes and didn't pass anyone. Nothing wrong with only endangering yourself.

EDIT: Also.. the 2.8 V6 will take a 150 shot of nitrous like it was high grade gasoline

And I'm pretty sure you are wrong about how to set the timing.. The 2.8 has two small screws and the dizzy cap cannot be rotated. might just be mine tho.. o.0

That's what I'm saying! Thank you.
And I'll check out the timing when I get home.
Re: Couple 2.8er question.
i got a 2.8 and yea the timming can be adjusted it only has one bolt and a hold down clamp u can turn it back or in the other direction i use a timming gun to make sure it correct though

youre thinking about the screws for the distributor cap, not the distributor itself.

Re: Couple 2.8er question.
2.4L 4 bangers can pull off 125MPH, what the hell makes you think my 2.8L V6 cant? its stock, and i checked, i have not chipped this or done anything except install a flowmaster muffler, and that MIGHT give me an additional 5 HP, dyno test shows 142HP at 6500 RPM's, in third gear i can EASILY do 7600 RPM's without blowing it up, my speed test at the drag strip today, for the mile run, was 129. so EAT IT. just cus YOUR camaro is runing like a volkswagon bug doesnt mean everyone elses is.

Oh id like to see the dyno sheets too. ive never seen one of these engines that will pull that high RPM stock, they usually fall off around 4500. again prove me wrong. id love to see all this "fact" you speak of.
