Re: i want ac

if you are going to replace it go with the new system that does not use freeon. you will find that it is easier to get now since it is outlawed in Cal and most of the US.
pm me your e-m ail address and i will shoot you the parts of a chiltons that talks about it.

Re: i want ac

i took a closer look at it the only t hing missing is the low pressure hard line from the accumalator to the condensor. the compressor clutch does not spin... is it crap now??. where can i get the low pressure line. i think i will keep it r12( heard it blows colder and i have the cert needed to buy it). also since that hardline is missing does that mean the accumalator is junk because of outside things getting to it or should it be fine???i know it gets alot hotter here later i live in lake charles, but the wife is pregnant and this heat is killing her this summer

Re: i want ac

Since you are missing hoses, the system has been open to the atmosphere for a long time. To start, you need to replace the A/C Compressor, since it is apparently siezed, the accumulator/drier(the silver can by the blower motor), the orifice tube, ad ALL of the seals. The system will have to be back flushed prior to sealing to make sure that you have no junk in it. Do this before you install the new parts.

Since the system is basically new, all you'll need to do is install the correct amount of PAG oil instead of mineral oil. Vacuum the system down with the proper pump to remove any leftover moisture and impurities, then fill with the correct amount of R134a. remember that you'll have to convert all the fittings over to the new quick connects.
