my 91 camaro RS 3.1l is over heating

my 91 camaro RS 3.1l is over heating

i just finished rebuilding the engine in my camaro RS and now when it heats up the fan will not turn on. when the temp on the gauge reaches about 200 the engine shuts off. also when i turn on the a/c the engine dies. please help

Hey bro, that sucks. First thing I would do is check fuses. and the a/c problem is just as mysterious. i would say maybe some kinda short messes with the computer or something. just a guess.. i have no clue tho.

i checked all the fuses and i unhooked the heater fan and the a/c ran but the cooling fan still never came on and when the engine reached about 225 degrees the engine shut off

well i think the engine is supposed to shut off at a certain temperature. you should be happy it does. or it could be that when your fan goes to turn on there is some kinda short... and that kills your computer

sounds like your fans are grounding somthing out in the ignition. 200 is a good point to turn the fans on, and when they should come on it shuts the car off. ac on runs fan(s) and when you turn yours on its shutting the car off. i have no idea what could happened but that is my guess.
