Strange ticking noise
For at least a year now my Firebird has been afflicted with a strange ticking/knocking noise and I'm at a loss as to what it is. It only occurs when the car is moving and usually doesn't begin until 40+ mph. Once it does start though it can continue at low speeds down to about 10 mph. The frequency of the noise is dependent on the actual speed of the car not engine speed. Right turns seem to help get it started but not all the time. It seems to be coming from the front drivers side of the car but I can't tell for sure because that's where I'm sitting all the time.
Any ideas what this could be? Thanks in advance.

This doesn't really sound like a dragging brake pad to me. I could be wrong though.

Thought I'd let everyone know what the noise was. I had a loose wheel weight behind the trim ring. I could see where it had been able to slide around on the rim.

Luckily that's the second place I looked. First I took the center cap off and when I didn't see anything in there I took the ring off. I don't think I would have ever thought of a wheel weight as the cause of the noise.
