Just tackling little gremlins with the 91 I bought, seems that when you get in the car, turn the key it will just make a clicking sound, then after several tries (guy I bought it from said it helps when you put the car in N and then put it in gear and try and start it)

I try starting the car several times without it firing, then after several times, it will start right up. Is this some sort of a starter/flywheel issue or something else? Battery is charged, this was my first thought since it was sitting for 2 years but I put it on the charger and still doing this, also with another good battery as well.

I said this in a thread not too long ago. Check your connections between the positive battery post and the starter. Use a voltmeter and check for a voltage difference between the battery bolt and the solenoid. Anything above zero means you probably should check the positive cable. Check the starter ground point (the mounting flange) for rust, grease, and other debris.

maverick, are you intending to say to check for resistance between the battery terminal and the solenoid? check that way, you won't see any voltage.
Anyway, this sounds like the same problem I'm trying to straighten out right now, also. I have my engine out currently so I checked voltage and all while it was easy to get to. It worked flawlessly while I was checking it out. I'm afraid to say that it may be a bad wire somewhere...a wire that won't carry the voltage once a load is applied. the tricky part is finding that bad wire! My post about this is titled "need starter help". I'll update if/when I actually find a problem.
